Travel with a Local was born from a dream of our founder Marcio Dias. Marcio lives in the United States and has to travel extensively to Brazil where he has two beautiful children, not so little anymore, and who are part of the Travel with a Local business as well. Marcio joined forces with Brazilian singer/interpreteur Laura Vieira, who has received guests for many years in Rio de Janeiro to make Travel with a Local a reality. In truth, we are a family business and our goal is to share the beautiful aspects of our culture and country with you in a way only a local could.

Marcio Dias was born in Brazil where he grew up in the city of Niteroi, accross the Guanabara bay from Rio de Janeiro. Marcio has lived in Copacabana, Ipanema, Sao Conrado and other exciting neighboorhoods and towns around the Rio de Janeiro city. Marcio is a lover of nature and has experience guiding tours to explore the great wonders of Brazil. Marcio currently lives in the city of Boulder Colorado and is the founder and president of Travel with a Local besides running a Web Marketing and Advertising Business in Colorado.
